Bridgenext (formerly Emtec Technologies) and Sightsavers India recently partnered to organize an extensive eye care camp aimed at bringing quality eye care services to communities in rural areas of Maharashtra.B
Aptly named Netra Vasant (celebrating the cause of healthy eyes), the program aims to achieve cohesive eye healthcare services in 116 districts across India to reduce blindness prevalence, provide equitable coverage, and financial & programmatic sustainability. The program’s goal is to make eye care services such as screenings, corrective spectacles, and sight restoration surgeries much more accessible to those in need.
The program was launched on July 5th, 2023, at Valsavangi, Jalna. The event was attended by members and trustees of Lions Club Aurangabad Chikalthana Hospital, the program’s implementing partner, as well as RN Mohanty, CEO of Sightsavers India, and Bridgenext representatives Rahul Kanhere, HR Business Partner, and Vikash Gupta, Senior Manager. During the event, a team of experts conducted eye screenings and educated the attendees on the importance of corrective measures and treatment for various eye conditions. In a single day, a team of dedicated doctors assessed and treated nearly 600 individuals residing in Jalna and Buldhana districts with cataracts and other eye ailments using advanced equipment and expertise.
“With the launch of Sightsavers India’s rural eye health programme-Netra Vasant, eye care services will become more accessible to the community. It will help us identify common eye problems, such as refractive error & cataracts, which can be treated with surgical and non-surgical interventions,” said R.N. Mohanty, CEO, Sightsavers India. “We are proud to partner with Bridgenext and to strengthen the availability, accessibility, and affordability of eye health care services in the rural district of Jalna. The efficient team of doctors and medical staff at Lions Club Aurangabad Chikalthana Hospital will help us take eye care services to the rural communities.”
Bridgenext wholeheartedly supports not only the cause of timely eye care services but also stands firm in its efforts to restore people’s hope, dignity, and independence with healthy eyes.
“We are both proud and humbled to be associated with this noble cause. It is a delight to watch this dynamic team work relentlessly towards providing eye care to people in the remotest parts of the country. I truly cherish our association of the last few years and wish this team continued success,” said, Sachin Ghaisas, Managing Partner, Emtec Digital and Head of Global Delivery at Emtec. The partnership between Emtec Technologies and Sightsavers India has made a significant difference in the lives of the people in India. We would also like to thank the hardworking team at the Lions Club Aurangabad Chikalthana Hospital for their unwavering support and dedication to this event. This remarkable collaboration is a shining example of how organizations can join forces to positively impact our communities.
