Position Description
Bridgenext is seeking a technical writer to work side-by-side with our customer to collaborate on creating high-quality documentation for the CMS platform. We are looking for a tech enthusiast who excels at distilling complex technical information into clear, concise language and can effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
As a Technical Writer, you will work closely with product experts, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop user-friendly documentation that effectively communicates the use of the product and technical information for using the platform.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Develop high-quality documentation: Create user manuals, guides, technical tutorials, and other documentation to support the adoption and effective use of CMS by users and developers.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs): Work closely with product experts, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information, ensure accuracy, and validate content.
- Conduct research: Stay up to date on new features, updates, and best practices related to CMS to provide relevant and timely documentation.
- Write clear and concise content: Use a formal tone and style to convey technical information in an approachable manner, ensuring that users can easily understand complex concepts.
- Review and revise content: Review and refine documentation for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency with the brand voice and style guide.
- Create visual aids: Develop diagrams, flowcharts, and other visual elements to enhance the usability of documentation and facilitate understanding.
- Meet deadlines and manage multiple projects: Work under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks as needed.
Must Have Skills
- 5+ years of experience creating technical documentation for SAAS platforms.
- 2+ years of experience creating documentation for developers.
- Lean thinking, nimble to drive change that enables efficiencies and drives growth.
- Proficiency with documentation tools like Microsoft Word, Confluence, or tools for structured authoring.
- Familiarity with HTML, Markdown, etc.
Professional Skills
- Master’s degree in computer science, English, Communications, or related field: 2+ years of experience in technical writing, documentation, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work well with teams
Nice to Haves
- Certified Technical Writer (CTW): Certification from the Society for Technical Communication (STC) is desirable.
- Experience with other CMS platforms: Familiarity with other CMS platforms, such as WordPress or Drupal, may be beneficial.
